<\/div>\nProf. Tristan Ferry Deputy Head of the Department of Infectious and Tropical Disease at the Croix-Rousse Hospital<\/p>\n Centre International de Recherche en Infectiologie<\/a> Hospices Civils de Lyon<\/a> Prof. Tristan Ferry<\/strong> has received postgraduate specialty training in both Internal Medicine, and in Infectious and Tropical Disease. He wrote a medical thesis<\/strong> in 2005 and a doctoral thesis<\/strong> in 2007 (supervised by Prof. J\u00e9r\u00f4me Etienne), on toxins produced by Staphylococcus aureus<\/em>. He is affiliated with the International Centre for Infectiology Research (CIRI)<\/strong><\/a>, working with the team of Prof. Fran\u00e7ois Vandenesch. He spent one post-doctoral year at Geneva University Hospital<\/a><\/strong>, where he worked in the field of both HIV<\/strong> (Swiss HIV Cohort Study<\/a><\/strong> with Prof. Bernard Hirschel and Prof. Alexandra Calmy) and bone and joint infection due to Staphylococcus<\/strong> (with Prof. Daniel Lew and Dr. Ilker U\u00e7kay).<\/p>\n He was appointed the post of Professor<\/strong> at the facult\u00e9 de M\u00e9decine Lyon Est<\/a><\/strong> at L\u2019Universit\u00e9 Claude Bernard Lyon 1<\/a><\/strong> in 2014. He is Associate Dean for teaching Infectious Disease to medical students and is in charge of the “History of Medecine” module, during which he teaches the history of phage therapy.\u00a0He is Vice-President research delegate of Coll\u00e8ge des Universitaires des Maladies Infectieuses et Tropicales (CMIT)<\/a><\/strong>; and a member of the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de Pathologie Infectieuse de Langue Fran\u00e7aise (SPILF)<\/a><\/strong>, the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID)<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, the European Bone and Joint Infection Society<\/em> (EBJIS<\/em>)<\/a><\/strong>, the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Fran\u00e7aise d’Histoire de la M\u00e9decine<\/strong><\/a>, and, since 2020, the Acad\u00e9mie Nationale de Chirurgie<\/a><\/strong>. He has contributed to over 300 publications since 2002<\/a><\/strong>, has held dozens of oral presentations<\/a><\/strong> in national and international conferences, and has written various book chapters<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n He practices in the Infectious Disease Department<\/strong><\/a> at the Croix-Rousse Hospital, which is part of HCL<\/strong><\/a>. He dedicates most of his research to bone and joint infections<\/strong><\/a>. Prof. T. Ferry has been coordinating care at CRIOAc Lyon and participating in the Lyon Bone and Joint Infection Study Group<\/em><\/a><\/strong> since September 2014. Since 2019, he has been the president of the National Scientific Committee of CRIOAc<\/a><\/strong>. Between 2018 and 2020, he was the director of the national research group SPILF<\/strong><\/a>\/CMIT<\/strong><\/a>.
