{"id":14,"date":"2018-09-25T09:40:29","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T07:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/?page_id=14"},"modified":"2024-10-27T17:27:32","modified_gmt":"2024-10-27T16:27:32","slug":"presentation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/en\/presentation\/","title":{"rendered":"About us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"cri-emphasis summary\">In the field of <strong>bone and joint infections (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/qu-est-ce-qu-une-infection-osteoarticulaire\/\">BJI<\/a>)<\/strong>, a <strong>multidisciplinary approach<\/strong> (reuniting the expertise of an orthopaedic surgeon, infectious disease specialist, and microbiologist) is <strong>essential<\/strong> in order to define the management strategy, to identify the bacteria responsible for the infection and to propose the most appropriate medical and surgical treatment possible, so that limb function can be preserved after finding a cure.<\/div>\n<p>Certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/qu-est-ce-qu-une-infection-osteoarticulaire\/\"><strong>BJIs<\/strong><\/a>, especially complex BJIs, require a <strong> particularly high level of expertise, competence and resources<\/strong>. Unfortunately, not all private nor public hospitals can offer this multidisciplinary care.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4411 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo-crioac-lyon-rond-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo-crioac-lyon-rond-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo-crioac-lyon-rond-125x125.png 125w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>\n<p>The creation of our <strong>&#8220;reference&#8221; centre<\/strong> is therefore particularly suited to a situation involving a serious, low-prevalence pathology with few facilities having the level of expertise to manage it.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4416 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo-ministere-sante-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo-ministere-sante-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/logo-ministere-sante-125x125.png 125w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>\n<p><strong>CRIOAc Lyon<\/strong> and the member centres also exist to help raise awareness and to <strong>combat<a href=\"https:\/\/solidarites-sante.gouv.fr\/soins-et-maladies\/maladies\/maladies-infectieuses\/article\/les-infections-nosocomiales\"> nosocomial infection<\/a><\/strong>. Our centres aim to provide a high level of expertise to patients <strong>of all catchment areas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"cri-emphasis attention\">CRIOAc Lyon is a reference centre for complex <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/qu-est-ce-qu-une-infection-osteoarticulaire\/\"><strong>BJI<\/strong><\/a>, and is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/reseau-des-crioac\/\"><strong>network of reference centres<\/strong><\/a> recognised by the French Ministry of Health.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"m-all t-6of12 d-6of12\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crioac-lyon.fr\/coordination-et-equipe-medicale\/\"><strong>Pr.
